Students from Coláiste na Sceilge will visit the Met Éireann Valentia Observatory in Cahericiveen Co. Kerry during the course of Science Week.

Michael Gill, Chief Scientist at Valentia Observatory will provide insights into the importance of the work of the facility in weather forecasting and climate monitoring.

Student will receive a tour taking in the instruments that are used in the recording of meteorological observations.

Valentia Observatory is a state of the art facility and is one of many thousands of such stations that provide the data that is used to short term weather forecasting and provide the information that allow long terms trends in climate to be studied.

This event will be run for student of Coláiste na Sceilge.
