Institute of Technology Tralee (South Campus)1st Year Agricultural Science Students at Institute of Technology will be taken of a tour of David Lenihan’s farm to see how he has been using Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics in his framing operations
The tour will include;
1. See how David’s herd of cows are milked around the clock using a robot milking machine
2. Jim Kelly will cast his expert eye over the Science of Soils in understanding how optimise the use of the different field on the farm
3. Tom Houlihan, Teagasc Forestry Advisor, will review the status of the 20 year forestry on the farm and look at the science involved from planting through to harvesting and the management of the trees over the years.
