STEM in the Night Sky

Date/Time
Date(s) - 18/11/2016
7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Location

T116 North Campus

Come along to a talk about observational Astronomy and how simple geometry makes sense of everything in the universe.

We will tour the constellations, the planets,
the moon, nebulae, galaxies, globular clusters and open clusters.

You will be given a brief introduction to telescopes and optics (how they work).

We will then have a night sky observation session outdoors where we will tour all the celestial bodies that were mentioned above. If the weather is cloudy, the talk will go ahead as planned but we will select one of the following nights for the observation session.  This will be communicated during the talk .

Bring warm clothing for the observation session.
