Institute of Technology Tralee (South Campus)1st Year Students of Agricultural Science at the Institute of Technology Tralee will visit the farm of David Lenihan.
Students will experience something of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics behind three aspects of David’s Farm:
1. David Lenihan will demonstrate how his cows are milked using a robot round the clock
2. Jim Kelly of the Institute of Technology will provide an expert view of how soil is studied and how this is used in optimising the use of the fields
3. Tom Houlihan of Teagasc host a tour of the 20 year forestry and explains how science is used in the management of forestry from planting through to harvesting.
